Ontario Energy Board Intends to Revoke MXenergy Licence
August 26, 2011
Email This Story
The Ontario Energy Board intends to make an order seeking revocation of MxEnergy Canada Ltd.'s retail gas supplier licence for what the Board alleged was failure to comply with the requirement to file a Certificate of Compliance with the Board certifying that MXenergy is in compliance with the legal and regulatory requirements to carry on business in particular sales channels.
Specifically, the Board alleged that MXenergy renewed 29 gas contracts during the first quarter of 2011 without filing a Certificate of Compliance with the Board, contrary to section 3 of Ontario Regulation 90/99 and section 6.1 of the Code of Conduct for Gas Marketers.
MXenergy has the right to request a hearing on the matter.
