Affordable Power to Launch Prepay Service in Texas Under Zip Energy Brand

AP Gas & Electric (TX), LLC, which markets as Affordable Power, will launch an advanced metering system-based prepaid product in ERCOT under the brand Zip Energy.

Billing solutions vendor SmartGridCIS said that Zip Energy has chosen SmartGridCIS Express to support a new AMS-based product.

According to Texas Secretary of State records, Zip Energy was recently registered as a trade name by AP Gas & Electric (TX), LLC.

Additionally, a SmartGridCIS news release quotes Chris Martin of Zip Energy. Martin is Chief Marketing Office of Affordable Power.

Affordable Power has not yet registered Zip Energy as a trade name with the PUCT, or submitted a notice of intent to offer AMS-based prepay service.
