Mass Marketer GDF Suez Retail Energy Solutions Receives Massachusetts License

GDF Suez Retail Energy Solutions, LLC received a Massachusetts electric license to serve residential and commercial customers. As only reported by Matters, GDF Suez Retail Energy Solutions is a new subsidiary of GDF Suez Energy Resources NA focused on serving the mass market (see 7/27).


ConocoPhillips Receives Authority to Serve Nom-affiliated Electric Customers in Illinois

The Illinois Commerce Commission granted ConocoPhillips Company an amended electric supplier license to serve all non-residential customers with annual usage in excess of 15,000 kWh at ComEd, Ameren, MidAmerican Energy Company, and Mt. Carmel Public Utility Company. The amendment was first reported by Matters (5/13). ConocoPhillips's supplier license was previously limited to serving only corporate affiliates.


Starion Energy Receives Ohio Electric License

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio granted Starion Energy PA, Inc. an electric supplier license to serve all customer classes in all service areas. The application was first reported in Matters (7/15).


BlueStar Energy Services Seeks to Add Aggregation, Brokering to Pa. License

BlueStar Energy Services, Inc. sought to amend its Pennsylvania electric supplier license to include service as an aggregator and broker in addition to supplier. As only reported by Matters, BlueStar Energy Services also recently filed for an agent, broker, and consultant license in Illinois (8/11).


Conn. Draft Would Allow Transfer of Horizon Power and Light License

A draft Connecticut PURA decision would grant the application of Horizon Power and Light, LLC to transfer its electric supplier license to REP Energy, LLC, which has the same ownership as Horizon and is assuming Horizon's retail licenses in ISO New England, as first reported by Maters (11/29). Horizon Power and Light is not currently serving any Connecticut customers. The draft notes that REP Energy has a wholesale power purchase agreement with BP Energy. The transferred license would allow REP Energy, LLC to serve residential and commercial customers.
