Mass Marketer GDF Suez Retail Energy Solutions Receives Maryland License
The Maryland PSC granted GDF Suez Retail Energy Solutions, LLC an electric supplier license to serve residential and commercial customers in all service areas. As only reported by Matters, GDF Suez Retail Energy Solutions is a new subsidiary of GDF Suez Energy Resources NA focused on serving the mass market (see 7/27). During this morning's PSC administrative meeting, GDF Suez Retail Energy Solutions said that it will not initially pursue residential sales in Maryland, focusing instead on small business, but that eventually it will seek to serve residential customers. The Office of People's Counsel said that GDF Suez Retail Energy Solutions had represented to OPC that Maryland residential service may not begin until 2013.
Champion Energy Services Receives Maryland Electric License
The Maryland PSC granted Champion Energy Services, LLC an electric supplier license to serve all customer classes at each of the investor-owned utilities. The application was first reported in Matters (3/2).
Brakey Energy Retail Receives Ohio Broker License
The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio granted Brakey Energy Retail, LLC an electric broker/aggregator license to serve commercial, mercantile, and industrial customers in all service areas. The application was first reported in Matters (7/7).
Energy Trust, LLC Receives Ohio Broker License
The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio granted Energy Trust, LLC d/b/a ET Energy, LLC an electric broker/aggregator license to serve commercial, mercantile, and industrial customers in all service areas. The application was first reported in Matters (7/6).
