Residential Migration at Ameren Nears 10,000

Residential electric migration at Ameren, aggregating all three rate zones, was about 8,000 customers as of August 5, Illinois' Office of Retail Market Development reported.
The tally of 8,000 residential accounts includes pending enrollments as well as completed enrollments which have not yet completed one billing cycle of competitive supply service, in addition to those customers who have completed an enrollment and have completed one billing cycle under competitive supply.
In contrast, the monthly reported statistics by the Illinois Commerce Commission only include customers who have completed an enrollment and have completed one billing cycle under competitive supply.
The most recent complete stats from the ICC are for the month of May 2011, as first reported by Matters last week.
As of May 2011, residential migration in each Ameren rate zone was still less than 100 (reflecting migrated customers who had completed a billing cycle under competitive supply at that time).
At least five suppliers are now active in the Ameren residential market: BlueStar Energy Solutions, Champion Energy Services, Constellation Energy, Nordic Energy Services, and Integrys Energy Services.
