New Suppliers Dominate UI Standard Service for 2012
United Illuminating reported the Standard Service suppliers for 2012 after recently completing its final purchase of 2012 supplies, and also reported the Last Resort Service supplier for the fourth quarter of 2011. In 2012, Standard Service suppliers will be Constellation Energy Commodities Group, Inc.; H Q Energy Services (US) Inc.; Macquarie Energy, LLC; and TransCanada Power Marketing, Ltd. Aside from Constellation, none of the winning Standard Service suppliers had ever previously won a tranche of UI's Standard Service load. Hess Corporation will serve 100% of UI's Last Resort Service load for the fourth quarter of 2011.
Constellation Signs Additional Pennsylvania Public Sector Accounts
Constellation Energy has signed a three-year agreement with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to provide electricity supply to an additional 185 commonwealth customers, bringing to 5,900 the total number of public sector accounts Constellation serves in Pennsylvania. Constellation Energy began supplying energy to the 185 new customers throughout the state on Aug. 1, pursuant to a competitively bid power purchase contract with the state's Department of General Services.
National Fuel Gas Distribution Postpones ESCO Storage Tariff Changes for Further Review
National Fuel Gas Distribution Corporation has agreed to delay the effective date of its New York tariff filing to modify existing rules relating to ESCOs and the management of storage gas injection and withdrawal requirements until September 30, 2011, to allow additional time for PSC Staff review. The tariff changes were previously filed to take effect August 31. The National Energy Marketers Association has raised several concerns with the proposed changes (see 7/26).
