PUCT Approves Lower Discretionary Service Charges at TCC and TNC
The PUCT has approved, without modification, lower discretionary service charges for certain meter-related services at AEP Texas Central and AEP Texas North, resulting from the deployment of advanced meters. The revised charges are available in our 7/15 story.
Cirro Group Withdraws as Volunteer POLR
Cirro Group, Inc. has requested to withdraw it status as a volunteer POLR in Texas. Cirro said that nothing has changed with respect to Cirro's ability to meet the qualifications to serve as a non-voluntary POLR. Cirro was the only volunteer POLR in the market, and had volunteered to serve the residential, small commercial, and medium commercial classes in all service areas (except the residential class at CenterPoint at AEP Texas Central).
Network Marketer Ampegy Now Serving 18 Markets
Ampegy, the network marketing affiliate of Spark Energy, has now expanded electric and/or gas service to 18 markets in California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Texas. The most recently entered markets include Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Michigan, as first reported by Matters (see 7/5). Ampegy said that it has additional plans to expand later this year.
Stream Energy's Eric Hendrick Appointed to ERCOT Board
Eric Hendrick, Managing Director of Wholesale Operations for Stream Energy, has been appointed to the ERCOT Board of Directors, representing the Independent Retail Energy Provider Segment. Hendrick has represented Stream Energy on various ERCOT committees and subcommittees for five years. "We are pleased to once again have Eric share his considerable knowledge and industry talents in support of ERCOT and the customers of Texas," said Stream Energy Chairman Rob Snyder. "Stream Energy has been a leading advocate for deregulation for over six years, and Eric's ongoing executive relationship with ERCOT is a testament to the depth of his insight on energy matters," Snyder said.
