Nordic Energy Services, LLC, has won a three-year supply agreement to serve the opt-out aggregation of the Village of Erie, Illinois, in the Commonwealth Edison territory. MISO Files Updated CONE

The Midwest ISO and Independent Market Monitor jointly proposed at FERC that the Cost of New Entry (CONE) value for the next Planning Year (June 1, 2012 through May 31, 2013) should be set at $95,000 per MW-month, which is the current level for the 2011-12 year (pending FERC approval). The most recently accepted CONE value by FERC (for the 2010-11 year) was $90,000 per MW-month.

ERCOT Initiates Energy Emergency Alert Level 1

ERCOT initiated Energy Emergency Alert Level 1 at 2:40 p.m. local time this afternoon, when responsive reserves dropped below 2,300 megawatts (MW). Forecast for peak demand today is 67,084 MW, exceeding yesterday's new all-time record of 66,867 MW. Prices in the energy market did hit the $3,000 cap in several intervals today and yesterday.

PJM Files to Reduce Admin. Fees

PJM has filed at FERC to reduce the composite rate in Schedules 9-1 through 9-5 of its OATT (pertaining to PJM's administrative cost recovery) by $0.01 per MWh or 3.3% by way of an equivalent 3.3% reduction to each stated rate service category. With this reduction, the composite stated rate will decrease from $0.30 per MWh to $0.29 per MWh. The reason for the reduction is the integration of American Transmission Systems Inc. into the PJM footprint, effective June 1, 2011, which results in increased PJM loads and transmission usage volumes. It is anticipated that the new composite stated rate of $0.29 per MWh will be able to remain in place for five years.
