New Orange & Rockland Rate Case Includes Updated Merchant Function Charges

Orange & Rockland has filed a new electric rate case with the New York PSC, proposing to cover three rate years beginning July 1, 2012.

Proposed Merchant Function Charges under the filing are below (excludes variable uncollectibles component).

Merchant Function Charges in cents per kWh:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Additionally, O&R said that the unbundled cost for billing and payment processing is $1.08 per bill.  The current billing and payment processing charge is $1.02.

However, O&R is not proposing to change the billing and payment processing charge, "because the 6 cents per bill differential between the billing and payment processing cost and the current charge does not justify the customer confusion that could result from having different charges in the Company's gas tariff and the electric tariff."
