Nelson Named Chair of PUCT
Gov. Rick Perry named Donna Nelson chair of the Public Utility Commission of Texas for a term to expire at the pleasure of the governor. Nelson has served as a Commissioner on the PUCT since 2008, and is a former special assistant and advisor in the Governor's Office on energy, telecommunications and cable budget and policy issues. Nelson assisted the Governor's Competitiveness Council with the preparation of the Texas 2008 State Energy Plan, and is past director of the PUCT telecommunications section and former legal advisor to the PUCT chairman. Nelson replaces Barry Smitherman, who recently assumed a post as Commissioner at the Railroad Commission of Texas.
Constellation Posts Ameren Offers on PlugIn Illinois
Constellation Energy has posted its residential electric offers on PlugIn Illinois. The offers, launched earlier this month, were first reported by Matters (7/25), and were previously not listed on the PlugIn Illinois site.
DEFG Online Survey on Electric Restructuring Closes This Week
Distributed Energy Financial Group LLC's survey of market participants and other stakeholders regarding restructured electricity markets for commercial and industrial customers closes at the end of this week. The survey is available at the following link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/surveyinvitation. DEFG publishes a variety of reports on competitive energy markets, including the Annual Baseline Assessment of Choice in Canada and the United States (ABACCUS).
