Constellation Now Serving 900,000 Residential Customers with Close of MXenergy Acquisition
Constellation Energy has closed on its previously reported acquisition of MXenergy (5/12). Constellation said that the acquisition brings its residential customer total to about 900,000, doubling its previous total. MXenergy had approximately 540,000 total customers. Constellation said that close of the transaction also makes it one of the top 10 residential energy providers in the country.
Milagro Power REP Certificate Withdrawn
The PUCT has approved the withdrawal of the REP certificate previously held by Milagro Power Company f/k/a TexRep3, LLC. As previously reported (5/17 and 6/1), True Electric purchased the Milagro assets and customer book, and is now seeking to use the Milagro name as a d/b/a.
FERC Approves Merger of Columbus Southern Power into Ohio Power
FERC approved the merger of Columbus Southern Power into Ohio Power (EC11-37, 12/1). The matter remains pending before the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio as part of AEP Ohio's electric security plan proposal.
New England Munis Seek Technical Conference on Self-Supply in FCM
Several New England municipal and cooperative utilities have petitioned FERC for a technical conference regarding the imposition of offer floor mitigation on self-supply offers in the ISO New England Forward Capacity Market (EL10-50, see 4/14).
