NRG Greens Bayou 5 Submits Notice of Suspension
ERCOT has received a Notification of Suspension of Operations for NRG Texas Power LLC's Greens Bayou Unit 5 (GBY_GBY_5), a 406 MW gas-fired unit in Harris County placed in service in 1973. Greens Bayou 5 had submitted a notice of suspension in 2010, but subsequently returned to service and was included in ERCOT's recent Capacity, Demand, and Reserves report.
Appeals Sought on Proposed Order to End SOS Admin Charge at BGE
A proposed order regarding the elimination of the bypassable SOS administrative charge at Baltimore Gas & Electric has been appealed, essentially by all parties to the case (9221). Memorandums on Appeal (similar to a brief on exceptions, etc.) are due within 10 days. As only noted in Matters, the proposed order would completely eliminate the bypassable administrative charge added to SOS prices at BGE (see 6/2).
IGS Energy Confirms Active Marketing at ComEd
Interstate Gas Supply formally announced its residential electric market entry at ComEd yesterday. The market entry was first reported in Matters (6/23). IGS Energy confirmed that it will actively market its residential offers at ComEd to drive customers to the products, but declined to discuss specific channels due to competitive concerns. IGS Energy has a significant existing Illinois customer base at Nicor. Additionally, Interstate Gas Supply also confirmed that it will actively market its recently launched residential gas offer at Baltimore Gas & Electric.
Pa. PUC Approves New Supply Rates at Citizens/Wellsboro
The Pennsylvania PUC approved new Generation Supply Service Rates of 7.5162 cents per kWh at Citizens Electric Company, and 7.3735 cents per kWh at Wellsboro Electric Company, effective July 1. The rates were first reported in Matters (6/6)
Pa. PUC Confirms Final Retail Gas Market Order
The Pennsylvania PUC recorded and entered into the minutes of its public meeting yesterday its recent notational vote adopting a final rulemaking order on various retail gas market regulations (see 6/24).
Pa. PUC Tentative Order to Address Smart Meter EDI Protocols
The Pennsylvania PUC adopted a proposed Tentative Order which seeks comments on the proposed electronic data interchange capabilities to be developed by the Electronic Data Exchange Working Group as a result of a preliminary proposal for the development of smart meter data exchange standards (M-2009-2092655). The order was not immediately published.
