Ambit Energy Reports N.Y. Customer Count

Ambit Energy said yesterday, in formally announcing the New York expansion first reported by Matters (6/13) that it, "enrolls nearly 13 percent of all New York households switching to an electricity service company (ESCO) in the markets where it operates." Using the most recent New York PSC electric migration data (from December 2010), there are approximately 1.04 million migrated residential customers at Ambit's current markets of ConEd, NiMo, NYSEG, and RGE, which would make Ambit's New York residential electric customer count about 135,000.


FERC Schedules Technical Conference on Self-Supply Under RPM

FERC has directed Staff to convene a technical conference regarding the applicability of PJM's Minimum Offer Price Rule under the Reliability Pricing Model capacity construct to self-supply, in order to further consider self-supply arguments raised on rehearing (EL11-20).


Integrys Energy Services Installing Distributed Solar at Bloomberg N.J. Facility

Integrys Energy Services, Inc. will own a 1.8 MW solar power system to be constructed at Bloomberg LP's Skillman, N.J. facility. The system will be owned by Solar Star NJ VI, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Integrys Energy Services, Inc. Solar Star will sell the solar renewable energy credits and environmental attributes associated with the system, while Bloomberg purchases the generation's output at what were described as prices below retail rates. Bloomberg plans to develop nearly 6 MW of solar power in New Jersey within the next three years.
