Reliant "Open for Business" for Residential Service in Maryland, New Jersey

Reliant Energy is "open for business" to serve residential customers in Maryland and New Jersey.
Reliant is not actively marketing to residential customers in either state as of yet. However, it is accepting residential enrollments via telephone for those customers who come upon the supplier via web search or the state's supplier directories.
Specifically, Reliant is accepting residential enrollments at Baltimore Gas & Electric, Pepco, Potomac Edison (Allegheny) and Delmarva in Maryland, and at Public Service Electric & Gas, Jersey Central Power & Light, and Atlantic City Electric in New Jersey.
Reliant is initially offering residential customers in each service area a 12-month fixed rate. Reliant would not discuss pricing or terms, other than to say pricing is "competitive."
Once it begins actively marketing, Reliant will add online enrollment capabilities for these states.
With the residential offerings, Reliant is the first native former Texas incumbent to serve residential customers outside of ERCOT (Direct Energy not being native in that it purchased its incumbent customers at CPL/WTU). Brighten Energy, TXU's affiliate, received a Pennsylvania electric supplier license late last year with the intention of serving residential customers, but has not yet commenced service, it confirmed yesterday.
