Nania Energy Launches Separately Branded Mass Market Broker, Named EverBright Energy

Broker Nania Energy has launched a dedicated residential and small commercial broker, initially focused on the Illinois market, branded as EverBright Energy.

EverBright Energy is currently brokering mass market service for Commonwealth Edison electric customers. John Nania, president and CEO of Nania Energy and EverBright Energy, said that EverBright may offer small volume service at Ameren "reasonably soon," depending on the upcoming new default service rates.

EverBright Energy is offering supply exclusively from Integrys Energy Services, at the following rates for ComEd residential customers:

12 Months Fixed: 6.95 cents/kWh

24 Months Fixed: 6.85 cents/kWh

36 Months Fixed: 6.80 cents/kWh

All of these products include an early termination fee of $50.

Nania said that a separate brand was selected for the mass market brokering business due to its difference from large commercial and industrial brokering, the latter of which is based more on relationships. Nania said that EverBright Energy is a more marketable and "stickier" name, and will serve as a platform to expand small volume brokering into other states. Aside from Illinois, Nania Energy brokers large volume customers in several Mid-Atlantic states.

Nania reported that EverBright will conduct a mass media campaign including direct mail, public relations, and various promotions to gauge the best way to reach small customers. Much of the marketing efforts will stress customer education and making choice transparent.
