Jim Crane, of Crane Capital/Champion Energy, Leads Group Purchasing Houston Astros

The Houston Astros have completed a sale of the team, and related properties including its interest in Comcast SportsNet Houston, to a consortium led by Jim Crane, CEO and President of Crane Capital Group, Inc., which is an owner of Champion Energy Services. The sale, for $680 million, is subject to approval by Major League Baseball. Currently, the Astros have several sponsorships with Reliant Energy.

MP2 Energy Seeks Market-Based Rates at FERC

MP2 Energy LLC sought market-based rate authority from FERC to sell, market, and trade wholesale electricity, capacity, and ancillary services. MP2 Energy Texas LLC is active in the ERCOT market where it serves less than 1% of the retail customer load, and provides energy scheduling services to various unaffiliated companies.
