ComEd POR Discount Rate to Remain Uncertain Through Summer

April 18, 2011
Email This Story

An Illinois Commerce Commission ALJ has continued until June a hearing regarding Commonwealth Edison's Purchase of Receivables discount rate, which is being considered by the ICC on rehearing (10-0138).

Any final order would necessarily come sometime after the close of the hearing, and potentially could slip into the late summer.

The case's schedule now contemplates direct testimony to be served by May 20, with rebuttal testimony on June 10. Discovery will also be conducted.

A status hearing will be conducted on June 13, followed by a hearing on June 15.

As only noted by Matters (3/28), the rehearing process will consider whether the discount rate should be combined for all customer classes (as is the case now), or should be separate for residential and small commercial customers (as originally adopted by the ICC prior to an amendatory order.

See 2/25 for further background on the amount of the discount rate under the respective approaches.
