Constellation Energy Starts Actively Marketing Residential Service in D.C.

Constellation Energy has started actively marketing residential electric supply in Washington, D.C., as a presenting sponsor of the Washington Capitals' playoff bid. Constellation's initial offering to residential customers in D.C., first reported by Matters (2/22), was not actively marketed and only listed on its website. Constellation has refreshed its offers for both D.C. and Maryland residential customers under its "Power Play" savings program. At Pepco-D.C., a 12-month fixed rate is now 10.4 cents per kWh, and a 24-month rate is 10.0 cents per kWh. Each product includes an early termination fee of $150.


Duke Energy Ohio Selects Iberdrola Renewables as PIPP Supplier

Duke Energy Ohio has selected Iberdrola Renewables as the supplier to provide competitive natural gas to its Percentage of Income Payment Plan customers. Duke Energy Ohio had sought offers from suppliers to serve the PIPP load, in the form of a Supplier Bid Credit that would be passed through to the PIPP customers as a discount to the Expected Gas Cost. Duke Energy Ohio received five bids, one from Iberdrola Renewables, offering a Supplier Bid Credit of $0.051/Dkt; one from Atmos Energy Marketing, offering a Supplier Bid Credit of $0.03/Dkt; one from Total Gas & Power, offering a Supplier Bid Credit of $0.0241/Dkt; one from Interstate Gas Supply, offering a Supplier Bid Credit of $0.022/Dkt; and one from NJR Energy Services, offering a Supplier Bid Credit of $0.0157/Dkt.


ACN Elected to NEM Executive Committee

ACN Inc. has been elected to the National Energy Marketers Association's Executive Committee. ACN will be represented by Dave Merriman, Executive Vice President of Sales Support, and Tom Ulry, Executive Vice President of Business Development. ACN, with its direct sales model, has re-entered the competitive energy supply space after an absence of several years, offering service with Planet Energy in markets such as New York.


UCI Energy Services Joins NEM

UCI Energy Services, a division of direct marketing company Invado International (f/k/a Utility Choice International), has joined the National Energy Marketers Association. Damon Mintz, President, CEO & Co-Founder; Chris Thompson, VP Technology Development; and George Clayton, VP Chief Operations Officer, will represent UCI Energy Services within NEM. UCI Energy Services, via network marketing, says that it brokers customers in eight states and 24 markets for preferred suppliers Volunteer Energy, Infinite Energy, Vectren Source, and Dominion Retail.
