Penn Power Posts Results from Block RFP
Penn Power has posted the results from its March procurement of fixed block energy supply to serve a portion of residential default service. The products procured were 25 MW monthly blocks of On-Peak and Off-Peak energy delivered to the Penn Power zone, within the delivery period of June 1, 2011 through May 31, 2012. The On-Peak Average Price was $43.96/MWh, and the Off-Peak Average Price was $33.21/MWh.
FirstEnergy Solutions Extends Residential Offers in Three Territories
FirstEnergy Solutions has extended its current residential electric offers at Duke Energy Ohio (5.99 cents per kWh), Duquesne Light (7.19 cents per kWh) and Penn Power (6.19 cents per kWh) through April 30, 2011. The products, which offer a fixed rate through December 2012, had previously been set to expire at the end of March.
TXU Launches Online Tool Featuring Smart Meter Data
TXU Energy has launched a new online tool that provides customers with data from their advanced meters. In addition to usage, the TXU MyEnergy Dashboard shows outdoor temperatures and trends with usage and billing over time. For customers with smart meters, the free tool also shows forecasted electricity usage and cost, and outdoor temperatures by year, month, week and day. The tool is also available for customers with electro-mechanical meters, though usage is shown on a greater lag.
GDF Suez to Supply Philly Zoo
GDF Suez Energy Resources has entered into a two year contract to supply electricity to the Philadelphia Zoo, which will include Green-e RECs to offset 25% of the zoo's usage. Suez serves approximately 73,000 accounts for customers having a peak demand ranging from 50 kW to more than 200 MW.
