Foster Energy Services Seeks to Re-enter Ohio Gas Market
Foster Energy Services, LLC d/b/a My Choice Energy has applied to re-enter the Ohio natural gas market as a natural gas supplier. Foster Energy Services served as many as 700 accounts at Duke Energy Ohio from 2003 to 2005 on behalf of My Choice Energy LLC prior to the expiration of My Choice Energy's certificate in 2005, as PUCO declined to grant renewal of the certificate due to complex business organization issues among various legal entities (in part, it was determined that My Choice Energy LLC had been dissolved as an Ohio LLC prior to certification, later replaced by another Ohio LLC of the same name, with disputes regarding ownership and control). Currently, Foster Energy Services serves more than 10,500 gas customers in Michigan, with about 60% of the book composed of residential customers. In Ohio, Foster Energy Services is seeking to serve all customer classes in all service areas, though it said that it would concentrate Ohio marketing to commercial and industrial accounts.
