Online energy shopping website EnergyCruncher.com has gone live, initially offering electric brokering in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
EnergyCruncher.com's entry in each area was first reported by Matters (9/23) and (12/9). Todd Stave, President of EnergyCruncher.com, told Matters that he expects to expand the site to every viable competitive market as the site grows.
At Baltimore Gas & Electric, EnergyCruncher.com lists residential rates for electric service from Direct Energy, MXenergy, Spark Energy, Horizon Power & Light and Clean Currents (brokering for Washington Gas Energy Services supply).
At Pepco-Maryland and Delmarva, residential suppliers on EnergyCruncher.com are Direct, Clean Currents (WGES), and Horizon Power & Light. At Allegheny Power, the website offers residential service from Direct and Clean Currents (WGES).
EnergyCruncher.com also lists standing offers for commercial service, rather than only providing rates in response to quote requests.
Among those offering commercial service through the site in Maryland are MidAmerican Energy Company and NextEra Energy Services. Some of the standing offers set a maximum demand size on customer eligibility (for example, the MidAmerican Energy pricing is limited to customers less than 200 kW).
In D.C., EnergyCruncher.com offers service from Clean Currents (apparently through Clean Currents' load serving entity licensed in D.C. and not WGES), and Horizon Power & Light.
