Commerce Energy Lowers PECO Residential Pricing to Competitive Level

Commerce Energy has adjusted its electric residential pricing in the PECO service area, publicly posting a competitive rate for the first time since rate caps expired.

Commerce, which had been offering service at PECO prior to the expiration of rate caps, has had an offer on PA Power Switch for some time, but the rate was in excess of the price to compare.

Commerce now lists for PECO residential customers a product with a 3-month introductory rate reflecting a 5% discount off of the utility price (resulting in an intro rate of 9.42¢/kWh), with a monthly variable rate after three months.

Commerce Energy's website states that this product has a five-year term, and includes an early termination fee of $50 if cancelled after 30 days after the date of the first bill.

Commerce also offers a 100% green product to PECO customers under the same terms, for an adder of 1¢/kWh.

The products include a $125 potential rebate at the end of the term.

Commerce is a unit of Just Energy.
