Maryland PSC Posts November, December Electric Migration Stats

The Maryland PSC has posted electric migration statistics for the months of November and December 2010.

Because the data was posted simultaneously, Matters will only compare the stats as of December 2010 to the stats as of October 2010. Matters' comparison of select statistics with the October data is available here (compares total accounts migrated as well as percent of accounts migrated).
Notable statistics include:
- Total residential migration at BGE increased by 30,000 net accounts over two months (almost evenly spilt at about 15,000 per month), versus the 21,000 net gain from September to October.
- Total residential migration at Pepco increased by 8,400 net accounts over two months (about evenly split per month), versus 4,600 net accounts from September to October.
- Residential migration at BGE is 16.1% of accounts
- Residential migration at Pepco is 13.2% of accounts
Note that the PSC charts contain an apparent error in the aggregation of totals for the switches from/to a supplier chart; specifically, the totals for BGE and Pepco in Column I are each inverted (i.e. the total in Line 86 is actually totaling Line 87, and vice versa).
