MXenergy, Superior Plus Offer PECO Residential Service, BlueStar Serving Residential Customers at Penelec, Met-Ed, Allegheny

MXenergy and Superior Plus Energy Services have begun offering residential electric service at PECO.

MXenergy is offering a 12-month fixed rate of 9.39¢/kWh and a six-month fixed rate of 9.49¢/kWh. Both products include a $150 early termination fee.

MXenergy is also offering a variable rate currently priced at 9.89¢/kWh with no termination fee. Only the fixed products are listed on PA Power Switch; the variable rate is available on MXenergy's website.

Superior Plus is offering PECO residential customers a variable rate with 5% guaranteed savings off the Rate R Price to Compare through June 2011, with current pricing at 9.42¢/kWh.

Superior Plus also offers a 12-month fixed rate of 9.47¢/kWh. The fixed product includes an early termination fee of $12 per month remaining on the contract.

Customers enrolling with Superior Plus are eligible for heating oil discounts with Superior Plus' affiliates if customers elect automatic delivery of their oil supplies.

Elsewhere, BlueStar Energy Services is offering a 12-month fixed, 100% wind product to residential customers at Met-Ed, Penelec, and West Penn Power (Allegheny).

BlueStar's pricing is as follows:

Met-Ed: 8.98¢/kWh
Penelec: 8.48¢/kWh
West Penn Power: 8.21¢/kWh

Each plan includes an early termination fee of $10 per month remaining on the contract.

The rates are not available on PA Power Switch but are available through BlueStar's website, and are listed in the OCA price comparison charts.

BlueStar is the third supplier offering residential service at Met-Ed, Penelec, and West Penn Power.
