Viridian Energy Seeks Ohio License, Anticipates Q1 2011 Entry in New York

Viridian Energy PA LLC applied for an Ohio electric supplier license to serve all customer classes, including residential customers, in all service areas.  

Viridian Energy PA said that it serves 67,000 residential and commercial customers in Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, while affiliate Viridian Energy, Inc. serves more than 30,000 residential and commercial customers in Connecticut.  

The Viridian companies hold licenses, but are not yet active, in Massachusetts and New York.  Viridian expects to start serving New York customers in the first quarter of 2011.  

Viridian Energy PA also intends to seek an Illinois electric license.

Viridian Energy PA said that it has entered into a Key Supplier Agreement with Macquarie Energy LLC.
