Starion Energy Seeks Maryland Electric License
Starion
Energy PA has filed an application for a Maryland electric supplier license. A copy
of Starion's application was not publicly available.
NetGain Energy Advisors Receives Virginia Aggregation License
The Virginia State Corporation
Commission granted NetGain Energy Advisors (organized as NRGing LLC) a natural gas
and electric aggregator license to serve commercial and industrial customers.
PUCT Staff Revise NOV Against dPi Energy, Allege Non-
PUCT Staff have filed an amended Notice of Violation against dPi Energy,
raising the total administrative penalty sought by Staff to $104,250 (Docket 38384).
As noted in Staff's original NOV (6/29), Staff needed to perform discovery to ascertain
dPi's compliance with Subst. R. 25.107(f)(2), regarding protection of customer deposits
and advance payments. Upon discovery, Staff now alleges that dPi has failed to adequately
fund a segregated cash account for unearned advance payments. Staff recommended
a penalty of $25,000 related to this allegation.
FirstEnergy Solutions Offering Discounts to ChamberChoice Members
FirstEnergy Solutions
has entered into an partnership with ChamberChoice, a group purchasing firm serving
more than 90 Pennsylvania chambers of commerce, to offer ChamberChoice members discounted
electric rates at Penn Power and Duquesne Light. A similar program introduced in
the Penelec service area is currently serving more than 3,000 customers. FirstEnergy
Solutions is offering small business chamber members at Duquesne Light a fixed price
of 6.99¢/kWh until October 2013. FirstEnergy Solutions is offering members at Penn
Power a 10% discount off the Price to Compare through June 2011, and then a fixed
price of 6.50¢/kWh until June 2013.
Rapid Power Management Officially Launches Pa. Brokering
Rapid Power Management officially
announced its entry into the Pennsylvania market yesterday. Rapid Power Management’s
Pennsylvania electric broker license was first reported by Matters in September (9/3)
DPUC Approves UI Procurements
The Connecticut DPUC approved United Illuminating's
recent procurement of Last Resort Service supplies for the first quarter of 2011,
and Standard Service supplies for a portion of load for 2012 and 2013. Retail pricing
for Last Resort Service for the period January through March 2011 shall be posted
by November 15.
