Constellation Approved to Serve Residential Customers at ComEd
The Illinois Commerce Commission approved Constellation NewEnergy's application to amend its alternative retail electric supplier license to include authorization to sell to all eligible retail customers, including residential customers, at Commonwealth Edison.  Constellation's supply license was previously limited to serving customers with annual usage in excess of 15,000 kWh at ComEd and Ameren.  Constellation did not seek authority to serve residential customers at Ameren.  Constellation’s application to serve residential customers at ComEd was first reported by Matters (9/13).  

PUCT Approves Certificate Amendment for Pennywise Power
The PUCT has approved an amendment to REP certificate #10177 to reflect a change in the certificated name from Reliant Energy Services Texas, LLC to Pennywise Power LLC and to add the trade name Pennywise Power to the certificate.  As only noted by Matters (10/11), the change will facilitate a new brand under NRG Energy (apart from Reliant) which will market to cost conscious customers.  With Reliant positioning itself as a "full service" retailer, with a specific focus on smart energy products, and with Green Mountain Energy serving as NRG's pure play renewable retailer, Pennywise Power will be aimed at customers for whom cost is the "bottom line," NRG said.  NRG has said that Pennywise Power will operate distinctly from Reliant.  As noted by Matters, Elizabeth Killinger has been named President of Pennywise Power.

Single Source Energy Solutions Registers as N.H. Aggregator
Single Source Energy Solutions, Inc. registered as a New Hampshire electric and natural gas aggregator to serve commercial and industrial customers in all service areas.
