Reliant Energy Receives Pennsylvania Electric License
The Pennsylvania PUC granted Reliant Energy Northeast LLC an electric generation supplier license to serve commercial customers over 25 kW, industrial customers, and governmental customers at PPL, PECO, Met-Ed, Penelec, and Duquesne Light.  Reliant's application was first reported in Matters (8/9/10).


Gexa Energy Receives Expanded Pa. Electric License to Include Residential Service
The Pennsylvania PUC granted Gexa Energy's application to amend its electric supplier license to include authorization to market to residential customers.  In its March amendment application (3/21/10), Gexa said that, "[w]hile Gexa does not intend at this time to generally enter the residential market, it may, in certain instances, provide electric generation supplier services to commercial customers as to which a component of such service may include residential accounts."


AP Gas & Electric Receives Pa. Electric License
The Pennsylvania PUC granted AP Gas & Electric an electric generation supplier license to serve residential and all sizes of commercial customers in all service areas.  AP Gas & Electric said that it would initially focus on the PECO market.  Although no legal relationship to Affordable Power apparently exists, principals of AP Gas & Electric are principals at Affordable Power, including Kamran Virani, Chief Executive Officer for both suppliers; Chris Weaver, Chief Financial Officer for both suppliers; and Chris Martin, Vice President of Marketing for AP Gas & Electric and Chief Marketing Officer at Affordable Power (Matters, 8/11/10).


AOBA Alliance Receives Pa. Broker License
The Pennsylvania PUC granted AOBA Alliance Inc. an electric broker/marketer license to serve all sizes of commercial, industrial, and governmental customers in all service areas.


Price Point Energy Receives Pa. Broker License
The Pennsylvania PUC granted Price Point Energy LLC an electric broker/marketer license to serve all customer classes, including residential customers, in all service areas.


Early Bird Power Receives Pa. Broker License
The Pennsylvania PUC granted Early Bird Power LLC an electric broker/marketer license to serve all sizes of commercial, industrial, and governmental customers in all service areas.


Manhattan Energy Receives Pa. Broker License
The Pennsylvania PUC granted Manhattan Energy LLC an electric broker/marketer license to serve commercial customers over 25 kW and industrial customers in all service areas.


Tomorrow's Utilities Receives Pa. Broker License
The Pennsylvania PUC granted Tomorrow's Utilities Inc. an electric broker/marketer license to serve to commercial customers over 25 kW, industrial customers, and governmental customers.


Energy Savers Inc. Receives Expanded Pa. Broker License
The Pennsylvania PUC granted Energy Savers Inc. an expanded broker/marketer license to serve commercial, industrial and governmental customers in all service areas.  Previously, Energy Savers Inc. had been licensed to serve customers at Duquesne Light and Penn Power.



Pa. PUC Defers Consideration of Mondre Energy Broker Application
Contrary to published reports, Mondre Energy did not receive a Pennsylvania electric broker license yesterday.  The PUC deferred action on Mondre’s application until its October 21 public meeting.
