The principal role of the Settlements Analyst is to support the traders and originators in their administrative activities. It is crucial in the role to recognize the time sensitive nature of the responsibilities, respond swiftly to meet tight deadlines, and complete work accurately.
The Settlements Analyst is responsible for renewable certificate management, deal entry, month end settlements, transaction management, and data management.
In this role, you will be involved with the following:
- Provide deal entry support to traders and originators across all products.
- Coordinate with Risk to reconcile/resolve any deal entry issues or P&L discrepancies.
- Improve trading processes with automation.
- Coordinate accurate receipts, logging, and transfers of renewable certificates inventory and the timely entry of renewable certificates positions in the ETRM.
- Oversee timely reconciliations of renewable certificates inventory from holding accounts to ETRM in order to maintain accurate, complete, and timely renewable certificates records.
- Fulfil renewable certificate compliance obligations.
- Develop & maintain renewable certificates analysis reports.
- Assist in the improvement of internal controls related to renewable certificates inventory and deal entry.
- Calculate the monthly settlement amount for structured products.
- Maintain detailed and easy to follow process documentation.
To be successful in this role, you are likely to have the following skills/experience:
- 1-3 years in U.S. energy or commodity markets as a settlement's analyst, trade control analyst, business analyst, or similar role.
- Graduate in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Proficient in MS Excel.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to influence and build relationships as a participant in a team environment.
- Work under general supervision, is self-motivated, and proactive.
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels.
